André De Shields Is Tartuffe
An intimate Off-Broadway engagement
Molière’s classic. André De Shields. 100 guests a night.
Broadway & Beyond Theatricals executive produced André De Shields Is Tartuffe, an intimate Off-Broadway staging of Molière’s classic comedy starring Tony Award winner André De Shields. Featuring a translation by Ranjit Bolt and direction by Keaton Wooden, the production played New York’s House of the Redeemer from October 3 through November 23, 2025, opening October 9.
Staged inside the Gilded Age mansion’s historic library, the production placed audiences just feet from a story of deception, desire, and misplaced devotion. When Orgon welcomes the supposedly pious Tartuffe into his home, his family must expose the impostor before blind faith costs them everything.
